Master Nguyen Loc's health
Unfortunately, Master Nguyen Loc did not recover. His health got worse and worse. It was clear that he could not be able to teach Vovinam anymore and that he might not recover ever. From 1957 to 1960, Master Le Sang was in charge of Vovinam, even if officially, master Nguyen Loc was still at the head of the style.
The 4 th day of the 4th lunar month of the year 1960, master Nguyen Loc passed away.
Vovinam has suffered many problems that would not allow the style to be spread like others: The same year Master Nguyen Loc died, a Coup was intented against the South Vietnam Chief of governement Ngo Dinh Diem. The Coup failed, but as one of the members of the Coup was a Judo Master, the South Vietnam government decided to forbid all Martial Practise.
